Risk Management and Virtualisation

With an increasing number of servers running at the firm, Turner and Debenhams were looking for a way to underpin their Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Strategy whilst at the same time, improve the operational efficiency and reliability of their installed IT equipment. SoftDesign proposed a solution based on virtualisation and enhanced data management technologies.

From a Risk Management perspective, this strategy now includes full replication of the virtual environment at a remote location so that in the event of failure, the firm can be up and running in a matter of hours rather than days or even weeks using traditional technologies.

The firm now benefits from improved overall performance from the virtual environment with simplified hardware and software management, as well as the ability to add new servers to the network with a minimum of effort and expenditure.
